LA MATRIARCA

La Matriarca (The Matriarch), began with my love and admiration for my grandmother, Cristina Jimenez. A woman who sacrificed a familiar life in the Dominican Republic to bring me and my family to the United States. Our immigration and subsequent assimilation led to very little knowledge of my countries past and the loss of a valuable trade.

TAKE ONLY WHAT YOU NEED

Take Only What You Need
examines the ways in which industrialized agriculture commodifies, abuses, and wastes natural resources. Specifically, herbs. The photo composites are a visual meditation and analysis on my own food waste.

CHLOROPHYLL PRINTS

Exploring sustainable darkroom practices that are less detrimental to our natural environment is extremely satisfying. Though I am at the mercy of mother nature when creating chlorophyll prints, it is a wonderful collaboration between us every single time.
